A Field Trip? I Think...

Today started like any normal morning. I woke up, got in the shower and put all my school belongings in my backpack. At around 7:30 in the morning, I am dropped off at the "tree" (which is simply just that....a tree) and walking towards the gate to the school. Moments later, I see my AP Physics teacher approach. I think: Great....what happened now... He hands me a permission slip I need to get signed before I can go on a field trip that was planned for today. I take the permission slip cautiously and realize: My mom already drove off. I call her and she gladly returns back to school to sign the slip. School continues as normal until third period. My physics teacher tells the class that we are leaving school at 11:30 in order to get to our destination. Sweet...half day! In the middle of fourth period, I pack up my things and head out to the school parking lot. I realize that the bus transporting us is in the front of the school and I (slowly...as I already walked all the way from the portables and did all that exercise that got me all flustered...) walked to the front of the school. After moments of waiting in a rather small group, the bus arrives and we travel to the University of California Riverside (UCR). Once there we met some members of an engineering fraternity. Did you know those exists?! That's just qKrazy (yes I spell crazy in a weird way...it's a quirk)! Anyway, the members of the group talked to us about engineering (which got tiring very quickly...how many times can you hear "It's a college experience" before you want to flip a table over like the girls in Love and Hip Hop Atlanta) and then we toured the campus. It was a nice campus...then we returned back to the room we first sat in and listened to more of their "words of wisdom" (more like a rather drawn out explanation of something unnecessary). It was then time that we ate lunch. We had pizza, chips, and a Capri-Sun. Damn I love those Capri-Suns but the way they make you insert the straw is so complicated I almost felt like slapping a baby dolphin. After we ate lunch, we built R/C cars that were intended for children 8 and over. Whoever the hell made those must have been on something because it took me an hour to "construct" it (this included the instructions...just saying). Even the aspiring engineer students were having trouble building them. It was a HOT MESS. When it reached four in the afternoon, we left UCR and headed back to school. I got back home and stared at the box in which my HOT MESS of a car rested. All I have to say is that it was a rather interesting experience...to say the least. I will add one more thing though. Whenever the engineering students asked the group what we were interested in, I had a tendency to shout out dolphins (this happened three times in a span of three hours). I do love them dolphins. I would attach a picture of my "car" (if you want to call it that) but it's nasty...it's just a mess.
